Who said Holy Grail doesn’t exist?????? 12 Years of Hunt for a system that actually makes sense – Trading Systems – 24 February 2023

The magic year was 2010, the testesterone levels were high, the world was a magic place, a horizon stretched endless in fron of the eyes ripe with opportunities and adventures…

The trigger was Libertel, a trading platform whose advertisement appeared on the phone while browsing a social media forum.

The bait was the adventure and adranaline of jumping down the rabbithole of mega Forex Casino of unlimited posts and tables of dealing hands and russian roulettes.

The beginning was amazing… I still remember the first 2 months were the pure honeymoney period… whatever trades i took, i made money.. it just all looked so easy.. why isn’t everyone a billionaire? when i read 90% of retail traders lost money, I thought how dumb are people..

and then.. the ACCOUNT WAS BLOWN… hahahahaha!!!!!

and while I was fast asleep… a small 2 minutes flash crash and months of profits (aggressive profits, double the size of the original account) plus of course the capital… GONE… took 2 minutes!!!

First lesson LEARNT!!!

I was there… joining the celebrated club of 90% retail traders who lost money :)))

but then the competitive part of me woke up… I was not going to let a random UP and DOWN and UP and DOWN and UP and DOWN, the ebb and flow of the Forex Chart price river and all the crocodiles it was infested with beat me!

NOT ME!!! I won’t be beat!!

The 3 CRITERIA I set myself to follow:

1. Go WHERE the PRICE is goin: No more predicting that price will turn here.. or there… here is the pivot point, price must turn… here is the support or resistence, price must turn… no more Jogi Baba (fortune-teller) stuff… Why would the price know I want it to turn???

2. If you cannot put a tight STOP LOSS, your strategy is a time bomb… You can still have months of profits but that ONE DAY that the market decides it’s time to teach you a lesson, STOP LOSS is the only thing that is your defence… 1000 pips stop loss is not stop loss.. for Day-Traders, if price moves against you more than the daily ATR, what is the reason other than HOPE to stay in the trade???

3. Consistent Profit: NOT every day… NOT every week… not EVERY month.. NOT even EVERY QUARTER… but over a long run

Great… NOW WHAT!!!

So I started testing EVERY STRATEGY i could find on internet… indicator based.. price action based.. candle pattern based.. pivot based.. Jupiter in the 3rd house of Neptune based.. When the moon is 37* tilted and the blind widow of the ancient monk weeps… EVERY strategy that I could find

How?

Manual testing is biased.. your eyes can miss things… you might not notice that price did what your criteria was… SO learning MQL was the only solution.

If you can CODE it.. then there is no dispute that it DOES FOLLOW hard rules..

So learnt MQL and coded and coded and coded, until my fingers were worn off to the first knuckle… How many did I write and test.. can’t say.. I had a journal, but i stopped after around 1000 to track..

One day I came across one (while just browsing the youtube for more strategies)… It didn’t sound that cool.. sounded counter-intuitive.. every other strategy had used that point to predict reversal.. and THIS ONE.. it was actually saying to BUY at a level most would say SELL…

Anyway.. a coder codes.. so wrote the program and ran it
